Yellowstone Club Architecture Model

August 27th, 2007

We have a case study up on our website about the recent Yellowstone Club architecture model we built for Jonathan L. Foote & Associates for their design review board meeting this summer up in Big Sky, Montana. The document is available as a free download in PDF format and goes through the details of how the model was built from scratch off of blueprints. If you’re curious how the model that is pictured on our home page was constructed, we hope this document will do a good job of explaining the process:

Specifically:
1. The translation from 2D drawings to a 3D representation
2. The approval process for different building materials
3. Online tools used for managing communication
4. Representing topography and the building envelope at 1/8″ = 1′ scale

Note: A big thank you to JLF & Associates for giving us the chance to build a model like this. It was a challenging project but seeing what the technology and the CAD programs could do together was pretty fun.
