Using CAD data to create physical and digital architectural presentations

CAD Data

The foundation of everything we build at Sweet Onion Creations rests on Computer Aided Design (CAD) files.

These digital files can be in either 2D or 3D format and can come from the architecture or civil engineering firm to explain everything from the structure to the site's topography.

Once we have the buildings placed on the land using a variety of software tools, we can either push out a hi-resolution rendering or animation. It's even possible to make a virtual web tour, complete with hot spots showing the view at strategic spots around the site or from inside a building live in a web browser.

This same data can also directly be passed to a 3D printer and CNC mill to automatically build out the buildings and land features at a variety of scales for a physical model.

What's the big deal?

The advantage for our clients is this CAD data typically resides on a computer in an architect's office. This is obviously a huge investment. Yet, it can be leveraged far beyond just construction documents.

We specialize in taking these digital designs and retooling them for better marketing results. This gives you an edge over the competition.

In this economic environment, that's something many people are quite excited about. Check out some examples for inspiration.
