Google SketchUp
Purpose: Demonstrate how Google SketchUp files interface with a 3D printer to produce a physical architecture model.
Specs: A 3 x 3 foot replica of the Google SketchUp Headquarter building in Boulder, CO was created. A combination of 3D printing, laser cutting and hand techniques were implemented to produce a full color 1:8 scale architectural model.
Project details: The Google HQ structure was built in seven sections on the 3D printer and assembled. The seams of the sections are filled and painted. The railings and mullions were created with a laser cutter and painting was done by hand.
